I use Grandstreams BudgeTone-100 ( ~70 $ per phone). One of two is already out of order, and I would not recommend it for production use - sometimes it behaves a little strange. Hi! This sounds like a pre-configured conference group, where you dial into a conference, and then the conference server invites all the other participants. The problem is, that you have to wait until all participants have accepted the call before you start speaking. Maybe a nicer solution would be the PoC (PTT over Cellular) Service, which was recently published by several cell phones manufacturer. This service allows you to use SIP/RTP enabled cell phones in a walky-talky like mode. [Serusers] Adding an user via ODBC

Hi all, I would like to add users to the MySql database of SER using an ODBC link. What I'm asking is not the way to do this, since I already have it working, but if this method is correct and would not cause problems later. [Serusers] ENUM lookups

Actually you can still use ENUM even before gets widely deployed (read: properly delegated). As long as your SIP server and gateways are configured to use the DNS servers serving your E164 zone it does not matter if the zone is not delegated or your number prefix is not yours. Shortly said the users of each proxy can benefit of ENUM lookups except if the queries are meant for outside zone. I can for instance use SER to automatically dial the ENUM entry of one user and if it fails to use the PSTN gateway. Dialing +31-23-5458104 SER will first try the SIP address ag(a)ag-projects.com and if ag is not online will fall back to PSTN. If you're talking about ENUM entries: You would need to have phone numbers for your users plus a ENUM DNS infrastructure in your country. If you have already a phone number, you could give your users extensions behind that number. Unfortunately, there is no ENUM trial going on in Italy yet, so you won't be able to publish ENUM records for your users in the public DNS in that case, so other users would not be able to find your users via ENUM. But, you could still use ENUM for finding other ENUM users, a currently small, but rapidly growing community. [Serusers] Upgrade from 0.8.10 to 0.8.11

Greetings, I will be upgrading my Linux SER from 0.8.10 to 0.8.11. Not having extraordinary amounts of Unix savvy, is there anything I need to do in preparation for the Linux SER upgrade, such as somehow uninstalling the old version first? Or can I simply install 0.8.11 directly over 0.8.10. I am NOT using SQL and currently using 0.8.10 in a simple default environment for simple testing. Thank you, Tim

[Serusers] Serweb problems

I have just installed RH9.0, MySQL 4.0.16 rpms, php-mysql and ser (.tar.gz) 08.11. I have configured the Mysql support, and the ser server starts fine. I then installed Serweb under /var/www/html/serweb and /var/www/phplib and changed all the .php files as per the howto. But I haven't been able to get it to work... [Serusers] Problems with Grandstream Handy Tone and SER

I'm trying to REGISTER on my SER server with the Grandstream Handy Tone but the Grandstream support STUN end when it register to my SER it register with the internal IP instead of the WAN. The Grandstream is behind a Linksys Cable/Router. I have about 20 Cisco ATA 186 with no problem... Any suggestion, does some body has any good script for the nathelper for this problem..... Daniel

[Serusers] voicemail not working

Hi, I tried to include the voicemail support in my running config, but I'm not getting any voicemail functionality: I call a user which doesn't answer and I end up with a 404 in all cases. Prior to adding the voicemail logic, the config file was processing the requests as intended: numbers beginning with 8 go to IP users, other numbers go to PSTN gateway. By adding the vm support I was thinking that users part of voicemail group will see their received calls transferred to vm after a certain amount of time (20sec), or if they are not located/registered, their incoming calls will go to vm directly. Unfortunately this is not what I'm getting. In the file the following hosts have this meaning: Vocal.ipsound.net:5060 SER SERVER Vocal.ipsound.net:5071 SER SERVER RUNNING FOR VM ONLY as suggested the list. Running with the config file downloaded from cvs. Phoenix.tunix.com:5061 PSTN GW Running ser rel 0.8.11 release Thanks. Samy.

Hi! Please always CC to the mailingslist, so others may help you too. mysql: I always used the mysql rpms from redhat. they are working fine. You need at least the server-rpm, and the client-rpm. (I think you would also need the mysql-devel rpms if you want to build ser from sources.) [Serusers] Authentication using Miicrosoft IAS and auth_radius?
