Folks,
Today I've updated nathelper module to support RTP proxy. It would
be nice if somebody can test it on platforms other than FreeBSD,
because I don't have an access to such boxes right now. The RTP
proxy itself can be downloaded from:
https://demo.portaone.com/~sobomax/PortaSIP/rtpproxy/
Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

P.S. I've committed it to the HEAD, those with 0.8.11 prerelease
please apply the following patch:

Hi,
First of all thanks to SER developers for the great work.
I'm new to SIP and SER, I been playing with it a week ago and I was
able to setup a 0.8.11pre, and now I want to try the voicemail service.
It seems that I need to run another SER instance for voicemail and
redirect the requests to that instance.
It is posible to process the voicemail request on the same instance I
use to forward/register users ?
Or I need a second SER running. In case of 2 SER servers, it is posible
to run them in the same box using diferent ports and diferent databases
?
What are the combinations ?
TIA

Hello,
I am new to Ser. I am able to configure the Ser and
mysql on linux both are working fine I am able to
register with messenger with in our Internal Network.
What I want is to access this server and register it
from out of office employees.
We are using Check Point firewall I configured this
server to allow both way in/out and NATED with public
IP.
For testing purpose I kept all ports opened in the
firewall, for this particular server. I dont why I am
not able to register it.
What am I doing wrong? Do I need to configure anything
else in SER or Mysql?
Which is better PSTN gateway. We are looking at 1 to 2
FXS port at this time for testing purpose.
Thanks
KD

I want to use the PostgreSQL as a location database.
I checked out the README within "ser-0.8.11pre29/modules/postgres/",
then I looked this line " The file createtables.txt contains the table definitions and index definitions.", but couldn't find it.
So please can you teach me the way of setup to use PostgreSQL?
Thank you for your help in advance.

Hello,
I am now working on an FAQ document for ser to avoid repeated questions
on the mailing lists.
Many of you asked questions and got answers (or figured out the answers by
themselves), if you feel that your question and answer should be included in
the document, please send it to me in a private e-mail (don't reply to the
list).
Any contributors are welcome, of course.
thanks, Jan.

You wrote this couple of weeks before: I have no crystal ball and I am
not going to reply to this thread anymore...
With the same info I sent you all, someone else "Jiri" found the problem
at that specific reply you wrote above. Which it tells me you don't
know it all and you read email better.
If this is the way you try to provide any help, please don't help me.

So what ? Fix it instead of complaining..

install php mysql support.
Jan.
I think its this way:
FXO-interface: connects to the PSTN network an behaves like a normal phone the PSTN network.
FXS-interface: connects to phone and behaves like a PSTN network to the phone (acts as a power supply for the phone).
Simple scenario:
Analog Phone <---> FXS + PC <----VoIP----> PC + FXO (=Gateway) <---->PSTN

Might take a closer look at the Checkpoint to see if it is
doing Port Address Translation (PAT) in addition to NAT.
If I recall correctly, the older versions of Checkpoints
software did PAT, which caused folks problems when an app
wanted to use specific tcp/udp port numbers (for example,
when trying to use an non-checkpoint VPN box on the inside
of the checkpoint).

Think the FXS is a Foreign Exchange interface intended to tie
a ser-accessible gateway to a telephone/pbx line (not to a
telephone instrument).
