Hello,
I have MSN Messenger 6.0 on Windows 2000 box. And under "Tools -> Options -> Accounts" I only have ".NET Passport Account" and there is no "Communications Service Account" to configure for SIP.
So can somone please suggest which version of MSN Messenger supports SIP communications.
Thanks,
Madhuri,

You need Windows Messenger, not MSN Messenger.

User 1 and User 2 are using Messenger 4.7. User 1 is online. User 2 logs on and SUBSCRIBEs to User 1's presence. OK's go back, and a NOTIFY is sent from User 1 to User 2, but the proxy sends back a 483 too many hops. My config file is set up to be stupid about this, so it should send it right through.
Is there anything else that should be set up to make this work? It was my understanding that Messenger communicates that information from UA to UA and that the proxy is just dumb in this matter. I had no problem with this in the 8.10 version of SER, but I've had it since I upgraded to 8.11.

Hello,
you may try 'serctl add/rm ...' while ser is running. Be sure you have
already created the database (directory) and the tables (text files).
Here are some samples:
http://iptel.org/ser/doc/modules/html/dbtext.html#AEN98
dbtext was designed for demos on/or small devices that have no other
database system. It has no special tool for management -- use shell
commands and text editors.

Hello,
I installed SER and I installed mysql both server and
client using
MySQL-server-4.1.0-0.i386.rpm and
MySQL-client-4.1.0-0.i386.rpm
Now I am trying to configure mysql with SER using the
instructions given in the "SER HOW TO" document by Dan
Austin.
In the section 2.7 of the document (MySQL setup) it is
mentioned to execute ser_mysql.sh
I didnt find that file anywhere. I downloaded all the
packages and everything related to SER from the iptel
website.
Can some one please help me in these regards.
Thanks,
Madhuri.

Hello,
I have an error when I create the ser database with the ser_mysql utilities, tables are correctly created but users (ser, serro) are not created.
When I query mysql with “select * from user;” I have an error, and when I query mysql with “select User()” I have only the user root@localhost
Thanks
I've run into a problem (again) where I'm worried about the registration
and invite identity. I've got the appropriate check_from() which
verifies
that the from uri contains a user in the subscriber table.
The README in uri :
-------
1.4.3. check_from()
Check From username against URI table or digest credentials.
--------
I can't tell from the description if this means that *any* user
will work? Can the user in the from() field be different that the
user in the digest credentials? How can I be sure that the from
matches the credentials?

Hello All !
I'm new to SER, and I'd like to install rtpproxy.
I've found the program to compile
(https://demo.portaone.com/~sobomax/PortaSIP/rtpproxy/),
but I don't know what to do with it once it is compiled,
and I don't know what to change in SER to integrate the proxy.
Thank you all for your help !
