Hi all,
I just installed ser on Red Hat linux 8.0 from
source code with the insructions given in the
INSTALL{without mySQL support}.which is
1)tar xvf ser-0.8.11_src.tar;
2)make;
3)make prefix=/usr/local install
I then registered two users from Mic.Windows
Messenger and Ubiquity softphone on separate
machines{Solaris and windows XP}. It went well while
registering. I get 200 OK replies to REGISTER
requests.
Then I try to call from one user to the other but
I can not get a session between these 2 clients
through the ser proxy. Ser replies client's INVITE
request with "100 trying" and clients waits a while
then got 408 "Request timeout" although I can list the
registrations with "serctl ul show" and confirm there
is 2 registered users.
Can anyone help me with this?
And also is there any mechanism to watch the incoming
and outgoing SIP messages to the ser proxy? and get a
detailed logging?

My configuration is ser 0.8.11 on Mandrake 9.1 with native php and
MySQL. It works fine. I also installed serweb and made the necessary
changes to its config.php. When I try to register a new user with serweb
and answer to the e-mail that was sent to me I get the following
message:
400 Table 'aliases' not found in memory, use save("aliases") or
lookup("aliases") in the configuration script first
By answering the e-mail the registration data in ser database is moved
to the subscriber table but can still be found in the pending table.
I tried to solve the error message by inserting "lookup("aliases")" in
the beginning of the ser.cfg file and also in the uri==myself condition
but then the ser doesn't start any more ("bad config file").
What should the configuration file look like?
TL
When I "klick" on the link in the mail I got in return after I "subscrib"
from the webb.
..../user_interface/index.php I get this messages:
"400 Table 'aliases' not found in memory, use save("aliases") or
lookup("aliases") in the configuration script first"
400 = bad request
Why is that? How can I get it right? I do not understand what to do with
"aliases".

Hi,
Does SER come with a SIP Stack? If yes, does it provide both UAC and UAS?

Is there any way to deal with a busy or out of service gateway? Would
either of these situations activate a failure that we could use to
change the route to a new gateway? If we set up the gateways in a
huntgroup scenaro, and 2 or 3 failovers had to take place, what sort of
delay could one expect?
Thanks,
Stephen
Subject: Re: [Serusers] Multiple SIP - PSTN Gateways
roughly like this:
if (uri=~"sip:972") {
sethostport("dfw.nationalgateways.com");
} else if (uri=~"sip:911") {
sethostport("emrgency.ngw.com");
} else {
sethostport("defaultgw.com");
};
t_relay();
That's it. No guarantee for positioning of semicolons and other
:$)"./... symbols.

Hi,
I am using windows messenger 5.0. This version supports SIP but i am not
able to log on as a first time user. The error i get is :
You have been signed out of SIP communications service because that service
has been temporarily shut down. Please try again later.
Is there any other free SIP client that experts could advice which works
with SER 0.8-11.
Thanks in advance,
Annie
Has anyone on this list been able to get SER to serve clients using an Intertex IX-66 firewall/router? Thanks for a
reply.
Nell
