Friends,
please, can you help me and share with me privately which SIP2PSTN gateways you are using in your networks? I'ld like to get a better feeling of what devices today have reputation of being usable and with which of them SER has been tested. I'm interested in all-grade devices, from single FXO to SS7 gateways. I'll keep it for myself.
Thank you a lot,
-Jiri

Hi Jiri,
I want to route SIP calls from my customers to termination provider. If I want to use SER commercially do I need to purchase any license for the same, as long as I'm not going to charge the customer for the SIP service but only for the termination of calls.
Regards, Kannaiyan
Hello,
ser is distributed under the GPL so you don't need to purchase any license, you can use it freely.

How can the ATA186 be a PSTN gateway? It does not have FXO ports.

Yes, you are right. Maybe we can call it Endpoint instead of Gateway.

Hi,
I've used it against a cisco AS5300 with 4 Channelized E1/PRI port(s) & 60 Voice resource(s)
On the client side me and my friends have successfully used:

Hi Tomas,
Did you ever make voice calls through Windows Messenger? I tested it with SER and my AS5300. The problem was all the calls were disconnected from Messenger side (BYE) after 1min.
Do you have any idea on what happened?

Hi,
I've had the same problems with other UA's also. Disconnect after about 20-30 seconds. The reason I think was 'Timeout waiting for ACK' but I'm not certain.
I haven't invested any time on it since it was only a friend of mine that had problems :>
So I know the problem exists but I don't know why. This only happened when we called ip2ip (thru ser) not when he recieved calls from the pstn-gateway (also thru ser).
I have used Windows messenger without problems.

Thanks. I am using 4.7 and the call was disconnected in 1min. I think I will also test 4.6 and see if it works or not.
