Dear Openser Team,
Please, don't same the question to both users and devel maillist. This mail should take place just in users maillist.

The module doc already explains it. However, I don't think this module is a really "cool". If you want to create real chat rooms them use XMPP protocol which has really good support in client and server side. SIP has the specifications defined, but nobody implements them yet.

well, this is a workable solution and when you are constrained to sip, a good solution.
It implements the irc-like style of chatrooms, where you have commands in addition to chat messages. Many people use irc and is just fine.

see here: http://kamailio.org/docs/modules/1.5.x/imc.html#id2467570
With default config options for imc module, the command to create a chat room is: #create chatroom1
See more in the readme.
Cheers, Daniel
