Hello,
Does anyone have recommendations for a SIP based termination provider in Europe and/or Australia? I am looking specifically for a wholesale, carrier grade provider. I have found several which appear to be asterisk based and quite small. What I am looking for is more of a traditional carrier that is SIP enabled as opposed to a smallish mom and pop shop.
Thanks in advance.

The most (all?) big carriers dont support sip at the moment. They all are working on it, but there are quite a few problems with the voip infrastructure. Telefonica told us, that they will support SIP in a few months. And Carriers dont use (Open)SER or Asterisk as softswitch. They are using something like Cisco PGW, Siemens HiQ or similar. There are still some problems with it. I hope they will fix it soon. We have some millions of call minutes to terminate too. :)

I use Interoute (www.interoute.com), they terminate SIP to PSTN, have a look at them.
I'd say tell em Nick from Mobilia sent you, but I'm too much of a small fry to register on their radar for sure :)
