Hello,
I thought it is an useful information to announce here that the SIP Communicator SIP softphone was renamed to Jitsi. There are several pages mentioning Kamailio and SIP Communicator out there, among them our participation to Google Summer of Code 2010 as well as the full SIP SIMPLE Presence configuration with XCAP: * http://asipto.com/u/sp
To fetch the latest version of this sip softphone you just go to: * http://www.jitsi.org
Btw, Kamailio is participating again in GSoC, the 2011 edition, together with Jitsi project -- I will make another message regarding this subject.
Cheers, Daniel

It's being a hard task for me to report a bug in Jitsi tracker or subscribing to the maillist, so I report a bug just here (hopefully authors read this maillist):
When Jitsi uploads the resource-list (XCAP PUT) it set a wrong Content-Type:
----------------------------------------- PUT /resource-lists/users/sip:alice@example.org/index HTTP/1.1' Connection: close' Content-Length: 231' Content-Type: application/xcap-caps+xml' Content-Encoding: UTF-8' Host: example.org:800' User-Agent: Apache-HttpClient/4.0.1 (java 1.5)' Expect: 100-Continue'
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="no"?><resource-lists xmlns="urn:ietf:params:xml:ns:resource-lists"><list name="RootGroup"><entry uri="sip:bob@example.org"/></list></resource-lists> ---------------------------------------
Why is it using "Content-Type: application/xcap-caps+xml"??? Such mime type is just for discovering XCAP Server Capabilities!: http://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc4825#section-12
The mime type for a resource-lists document must be application/resource-lists+xml: http://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc4826#section-3.4.2
Regards.
I forwarded the email to Jitsi mailing list and they are going to take a look. At first sight, seems indeed a bug there.
Cheers, Daniel

From my network, asipto.com asnwers to ping, but no web server seems
available. Can you please confirm Daniel?

Maybe you are unlucky to connect from a network that was source of scanning attacks, thus being blocked by the firewall. Try with a proxy.

Tried with a proxy and it works. However it seems to be a problem accessing asipto.com from a lot of romanian networks.
Thanks for the tip though.

Cheers,
Thank you, that was the solution. However, both from GTS telecom and from RDS networks asipto is not reacheable.
I do not know which is your policy towards this, but maybe a cooldown time should be advisable.
Maybe your firewall is just too strict. For me, the webproxy solution works. Others may just abort in the process.
