in the SER radius howto, section 3.3, (http://iptel.org/ser/ser_radius.html) one can find a hint that radius authentification can provide a verified phone number for a specific user.
Could this also be done with mysql, and if so how can it be achieved?

Yes, but only in unstable. There is a new column rpid in subscriber table. This is the number that will be put into Remote-Party-ID header field.
