Try to compile SER without any optimization parameter set. Bus error usually refers to a bad alignemnt and usually the optimization paramters of the compiler sometimes do not properly behave with the alignemnt.

"Bus error" is a very critical OS error message, it has nothing to do with OpenSER. You either have faulty hardware or hit a kernel bug ;-)
