Hello,
I have Kamailio installed as an SBC with Freeswitch. I would like to add a SIP trunk to Kamailio. Is there any documentation on how to do this? Also, is it recommended to add trunks to Kamailio vs Freeswitch if so why?
Thanks
Hi Joli,
Please define "add a trunk". What is a "trunk" in this scenario?

A SIP Trunk from one of carriers. We would like any registered user on Kamailio to call outbound and recieve calls.
So the trunk will be to connect to carriers.
Not Thanks,

I was hoping to illuminate the semantics of a "trunk" in relation to Kamailio. Kamailio is not an application with a high-level concept like a configured trunk. You can choose to accept initial SIP requests from certain IP or authenticated destinations, and you can choose to relay them to certain destinations. In so doing, you have built what you are referring to as a "trunk". That's about it.

OK thanks,
I am looking for class5 functionally on Kamailio. I would like to leave Freeswitch for conferences and other things not call routing all Freeswitch calls I would like them to go to Kamailio and have it make the desissions on routing.
Also, where can I get documentation on setting up the trunks? I have looked up "kamctl" which has an option for it, but not really sure how to implement it.
thanks,

Hi Joli, Look for IP Authentication for calls to be received on Kamailio. You can do static, DB or even RADIUS based authentication.
For relaying calls to FreeSWITCH cluster use Kamailio's Dispatcher module.
