I'm testing SER with Windows Messenger 4.7 and I have problems with the presence service. Those contacts connected when the user connects, appear as connected (correct). But when another contact connects, it keeps appearing as disconnected, and after a long time (more or less one minute) shows the contact as connected. On the other hand, all the contacts appear as disconnected with Windows Messenger 5.1, independently that the contact is previously connected or connects later. Has someone problems with windows messenger?. I've checked that these contacts are connected in SER with "serctl ul show". So I imagine that it's some type of incompatibility with windows messenger.

Windows Messenger polls the buddies only every few minutes.

The R-URI should be used for forwarding decisions and as you said it is correct.

I would not recommend re-writing the To: field. As for your provider I cannot say. Are you reaching this provider via a PSTN gateway you operate or via an IP connection? Do your proxy logs show any information that is helpful?

I would not recommend re-writing the To: field. As for your provider I cannot say. Are you reaching this provider via a PSTN gateway you operate or via an IP connection? Do your proxy logs show any information that is helpful?

The R-URI should be used for forwarding decisions and as you said it is correct.

There is, the drawback is many SIP devices will then no longer work.
It is by SIP specicication not meaningful to rewrite To. To specifies the original target and is not supposed to change. Use request URI for specification of the target which changes along the path.
Or The problem is with my provider?
If they are insistive on changed To, then the problem is on their side.
Is it Level3?

No, SER will not allow you to rewrite the From: or To: SIP headers. Only the forwarding URI. If you want to rewrite the From, or To headers then you would need to use a B2BUA. However, as I understand it, this breaks RFC compliance standards.
