Hi, currenty (the last few days) there has been a spam attack on freenode, #Kamailio is currently full of spam messages, I was wondering if who has operator rights could set the channel to +r (only registered users can send messages) as suggested by freeenode admins
The channel usually has only few messages and with all this spam it becomes impossible at all to use it.
Greetings, Enrico.
Hello,
I tried to do it via web chat earlier today, being on a trip with limited internet access, I am not sure if succeeded. Can someone connected to #kamailio channel on irc freenode.net confirm that spam messages stopped?
Cheers, Daniel

When I checked the channel was set to +r but the spam was still coming in-- although much less than before. (could be people already in the room).

I'm afraid not yet.
(your email arrived 23:55 and last spam flood was around 09:03)

This does appear to be a freenode issue that they are fighting:
freenode-connect NOTICE Due to the persistent ongoing spam, all new connections are being set +R (block messages from unidentified users) and will be scanned for vulnerabilities. This will not harm your computer, and vulnerable hosts will be notified.
