Folks,
I've registered new radiusclient-ng project on BerliOS. This project is
based on the existing radiusclient (approval is pending, first drop of
code and project page should be available tomorrow). My goal is to merge
in SIP-related changes from the SER, and also incorporate some other
improvements that Porta made locally. Unfortunately current maintainer
of the radiusclient doesn't respond to e-mail inquiries, which is the
reason for the fork.
Following is incomplete list of features to be implemented in the next
revision of radiusclient library:
- OOB support for SIP digest VSA attributes;
- ability to bind library to some specific IP address, which is useful
when there is a need to run several SER copies on the same machine but
on different IP addresses;
- full re-entrancy;
- python bindings.
If somebody has any other features in mind or is willing to help with
the work please let me know.

Hello,
that is an excellent idea. I started some time ago to add support for
VSA and for including dictionary files into main dictionary. But time
run out for that project and I had to use the some workaround (reuse
some existing AVP codes with other meaning, copy&paste the attribute
descriptions into the dictionary file). That work was for a demo but if
the project goes on I have to add these features anyway so your
contribution will be very appreciated ;). I will try to help as time
allow -- most probably at the beginning of the next year.

First release is available here:

Changes are pretty minimal, the main reason is to simplify ser
installation, it is no longer necessary to patch radiusclient to make it
working properly, just ask users to install 0.3.3. The new version will
also allow to remove lot of #define PW_{SIP,DIGEST}* cruft from Radius
acct/auth modules as well as digest attributes mangling code - it's all
now in the library.
Now I am starting more involved rewrite of API to remove all static
storage from the library.

Here is my first contribution - the spec file to build rpm packages. I
tested on my redhat and it builds and installs properly. I can build a
few RH packages, if someone is interested, although compiling from
sources is a better option.
