Hi,
I have ser 0.9.3 installed on freebsd 4.10, everything else seems to
work fine, except that it says host is down in the logs. It happens only
after i run the softphone to test. I have port forwarded (the client's
behind a NAT) but to no avail.

Probably ser tries to send a message to a host on the local network,
which does not respond/is down (see arp(4)/EHOSTDOWN).
Dumping the whole traffic (udp, arp & icmp) when this happens will help
finding out what's really happening.
It looks more like a host config/routing problem.
