Hi,
Can Kamailio act as SMTP server to receive emails and forward those to SIP users as
MESSAGEs?
It would be nice if postfix or some other rich SMTP server could function as module of
kamailio using all the services provided by kamailio scripting.
Hi!
You can certainly do this. Kamailio doesn't act as a an SMTP server, so you will have
to script based on incoming e-mails, which is easy. Then have your script use the HTTP
interface or another interface, like MI or RPC, into kamailio to push the message and the
address to send. There's also LUA integration and Daniel has been showing
presentations on how to integrate Kamailio with Twitter using LUA. If it's possible to
integrate with Twitter, it's certainly possible to integrate with good old mail.
Having said that, the simplest way would be to use a tool like SIPSAK to send the MESSAGE
to kamailio and let kamailio route it to the user.
Cheers,
/O
