Hi, I tried the "make install" . I get the message that all the modules are updated. However when i try to stop ser i get the same error in the syslog. module version mismatch for /usr/lib/ser/modules/dbtext.so; core:0.8.11;module:0.8.12
Please help.
Thanks, Annie
Presumably you still have a ser 0.8.11 executable in a directory (/usr/sbin/ ?) which is in the PATH variable before the directory where the source installation installed its binary (/usr/local/sbin/).

Hello, try 'which ser' into a terminal -- it shows the path to ser binary that is started by shell. If it is different than /usr/local/sbin/ser then it might be an old version since make install put ser into /usr/local/sbin. If you start with an init.d script, look into it to see the path to ser binary.
Also, ser -v (or -V) shows you the version of the core.
