Hi all,
I'm working on a SIP client, I'm implementing SIMPLE but during my tests I encounter a very strange behavior with the iptel.org server.
When I send a SUBSCRIBE message with an Expires value of 0 I receive a 407 / Authentication needed, I handle the challenge correctly (I've checked, the response value is correct) but I receive a new 407 message with the same challenge ! It continues again and again and I'm never able to authenticate. What is the problem ?
I can join a dump if needed.

It depends on how server iptel.org handles this requests. You should wait until someone who knows how it's configured read your post. I'm sorry but I can't help you, Samuel.

AFAIK, iptel.org SIP service does not support SUBSCRIBE. The iptel.org config is basically the same as the full ser.cfg found in etc in SER 2.0. g-)

Ok, thanks for your answers.
I thought SUBSCRIBE was supported as far as I can authenticate any SUBSCRIBE except the last one.
Do you know any public server which support MESSAGEs and SUBSCRIBEs ?

http://www.ideasip.com supports both message and subscribe... but only subscribe in pass through (we don't have an xcap server, but you can link two X-lites together for peer to peer presence mode).

Please send the dumps, without those this discussion is quite ungrounded. There can be many reasons why it fails. SIP service supports transparently SUBSCRIBE, like it supports FOOBAR, a typical reason for such behaviours include failed NAT traversal.
