Hi all,
Just want to ask if anybody here has come across this problem of mine, when single call proxy is ok, but when you send more traffic to it, calls somehow get stuck, trying to make a new call it takes a lot of time and so it times out.
Does anybody know what could be the problem?
Thanks!

looks like you have some blocking operation there. Is it default config? What is debug level you use (if it is high, then be sure syslog is configured asynchronously). What is the rate of the new calls you send?
Cheers, Daniel
debug level is 9, do I have to set syslog to be configured asynchronously for this?
The rate of the calls is not more than 20 cps

if you diverted the log messages to a specific file, then add a dash '-' in front of file path:
http://www.kamailio.org/dokuwiki/doku.php/tutorials:debug-syslog-messages#cu...

you can use benchmark module to try localizing what is taking too long to execute.

I had this problem on one (dual xeon) system. The cause was a very slow disk system - it was SAS but the OS decided to use it as IDE - and the killer was bandwidth logging by iptables.
Checking with wireshark it could sometimes take over a second for a packet to get out of an interface.
When I changed the disk driver and turned off bandwidth logging all the problems went away.

Hello,
How many worker children does Kamailio have? How are your CPU stats (at this load you should have only idle CPU, anything else looks like a bug). What process eat most CPU?

Run top for all processes and also run: vmstat 2 That will give you a global view of your system. As you can see the proxy is not using a lot of cpu.
BTW, this is the wrong mailing list as it seems that you are running opensips and not kamailio.

Oh so sorry, I am using kamailio in one of our production servers and was testing opensip with another :)
