Dear users,
This letter is addressed to the most experienced users for the ser openser and asterisk projects.
Advice me and I'll stop to mail my question.
How a session between two user agents behind nat could stay in the path ?

Hi Harry!
Please do not cross post. Split your problems into smaller problems and ask them on the correspondig list.
After all your emails, I still have no glue what your scenario is. Why do you want to host ser+asterisk+NAT on the same device?
Should the Asterisk/ser be reachable also from the public interface? If not, why do you need NAT traversal at all?
Why do you use both? Asterisk can also do NAT traversal. For how many users is the setup?

I mail my question to asterisk, openser ser lists
After all your emails, I still have no glue what your scenario is. Why do you want to host ser+asterisk+NAT on the same device?
pass through I agree my english is not very good sorry i try my best .
Asterisk don't provide IM/presence unlike ser however ser don't provide telephony features like MOH ACD call parked IVR and more
I want my sip agents to provide these features. Ser handle sip routing asterisk telephony features .
Should the Asterisk/ser be reachable also from the public interface? If not, why do you need NAT traversal at all?
In fact i have got a single machine for my tests . Ser handle sip routing so incoming or outgoing requests pass through SER not directly to asterisk .
I need nat support for sip agents behind nat.
Why do you use both? Asterisk can also do NAT traversal. For how many users is the setup?
I think asterisk support 255 users

I mail my question to asterisk, openser ser lists
I think one of your biggest problems is your poor english. What does the above sentence mean? I know that you post to all this list because I really get flooded by your emails.
Or do you mean that you give a shit on my advice and still spamming all the lists with your emails (getting the responses you are used to)?
After all your emails, I still have no glue what your scenario is. Why do you want to host ser+asterisk+NAT on the same device?

I want my sip agents to provide these features. Ser handle sip routing asterisk telephony features .
Have you ever used SIP clients with presence and IM? I suggest to setup ser (without Asterisk) just to test the IM features. SIP based IM/presence implementations are very poor yet.
In your picture, the NAT router is on the same PC as ser and asterisk. Is this correct?
what scenario do you have? Are all the users behding the same NAT (in the same subnet) and you provide VoIP within this network (e.g. an enterprise) or do you have external users (e.g. like iptel or freeworlddialup)?
Why do you use both? Asterisk can also do NAT traversal. For how many users is the setup?
I think asterisk support 255 users

Of course blacklisting harry on a personal basis is probably what some people did (i didn't, in the end, one needs the excitment and laughs that such emails produce). But ... I would propose harry to be expelled from the mailing list. Sorry, he does not have a clue about Open Source mentality and continuously bashes people (who are then still kind enough to reply to his please-do-all-the-work-for-me-for-free emails).

This is all about reducing the time spent on non-productive things. I stopped responding to or reading Harry's posts after he in a personal email was less than diplomatic (after I had tried to help him). He says his English is bad, but at least he masters the swearing of the vocabulary. So, what's wrong with using your email client to filter him? If others feel it's worth spending time on reading his emails, they are welcome. If we loose contributors to the list because they get tired of users like Harry, Harry should go instead. It may not be intentional, but the the fact is you do offend people, especially with your exaggerated use of punctuation (!!!!!!) and your forceful statements. Please try to work within the norm of socially and professionally accepted behavior. You are sure get better response. I think it is well within Jan's right to moderate users that make this list counterproductive. I certainly do not wish to see this list become flooded with the same childish ramblings and flaming seen on asterisk lists.

I've got a proposal for you:
Find someone with good english skills (a friend, coworker, relative, whoever). Try to explain to him/her your problem: * what you want to do * what you have done to make it work * what your setup looks like right now * what you expect it to do instead * where you need more information.
Another hint is to break everything down in separate tasks you need to get accomplished, that is don't try to solve the whole problem at once but try to solve smaller sub-problems first.
Then have this person write it down in english for you. Attach your configuration files. Post ONLY to one mailing list, and choose a descriptive subject.
Maybe this will finally help. C'ya, Marc

Well, he IS clueless and still doesn't get a whole lot of things (e.g. that he needs to provide way more information in a better way so others can understand his problem), and he doesn't seem to be able to read documentation and experiment by himself (after all, it looks like he's struggling for 3 weeks or so with this problem).
But: being clueless is no crime. And banning him isn't going to help: he'd just re-register with another name/e-mail address. And I think it would be a bit too harsh. Just add him to your spam-filter if you don't want to read his stuff....

Correct me if i am wrong, you are agent1 and would like to call agent2. Both agents registered with ser and you want the call to pass thru asterisk.
So you should add a routing rule to ser like
if (uri=~"^sip:agent2@.*") { t_relay_to_udp(ASTERISK_ADDR,ASTERISK_PORT); break; }
then in asterisk extension.conf
exten => _.,1,Dial(SIP/${EXTEN}@SERDOMAIN);
or something like that...
