Is anyone familar with the newer VOIP devices that sit outside the LAN between the cable/DSL modem and the firewall/NAT router? I understand AT&T is using something like this but what they use has a device like a Cisco 186 and a router built into one for under $100. Basically, it's a SIP friendly router with POTS ports. Vonage has something like this mentioned on their web site as well. This allows them to offer SIP/VOIP services quickly without having to battle the NAT problems. Anyone using such an animal?
