Is OpenSer still similar enough to "borrow" the SER web interface which
was published Sept 2005? Or, if anyone has used that tool is worth
evaluating?

openser 1.0.x should work with serweb for ser 0.9.x. (maybe shlight
changes to the fifo interface must be done).
newer version (openser CVS head vs. serweb cvs head) will drift away,
thus bigger adoptions may be necessary.
