Hello,
is it possible to add more codes to SEMS than there are in the default distribution? I would like to add iLBC, speex and g729a.
Any pointers?
regards,
Arnd
I believe iLBC is already available.
Is speex license free? If you want support for add it, send an email to semsdev@lists.iptel.org.
For g729, a license, not very cheap, is required. I am looking at sharing the cost and profit (by reselling license). I already get two parties interested. If you are interested, please let me know.
Thanks, Richard

Thats very nice.

Yes, it is. -- Quoting from: http://www.speex.org/ (cache) Speex is an Open Source/Free Software patent-free audio compression format designed for speech. The Speex Project aims to lower the barrier of entry for voice applications by providing a free alternative to expensive proprietary speech codecs. Moreover, Speex is well-adapted to Internet applications and provides useful features that are not present in most other codecs. Finally, Speex is part of the GNU Project and is available under the Xiph.org variant of the BSD license. --

In general interested. I am forwarding this to my partner who will contact you.

SEMS does indeed have the capability for loading multiple codecs. For example, the development branch already includes iLBC. I don't think though that the codec API is documented.
