Hello All,
I have noticed that almost all, if not all examples of installing Kamailio install the
PostgreSQL libraries. If one is using MySQL, is there a need for this? Is there
something in Kamailio that requires these PostgreSQL libraries to be installed?

New subject: Why does all the examples on configuring Kamailio install PostgreSQL
in databases realm postgresql is the king. surely thats why it is a goto
for kamailio users.
I believe you can test this by installing without postgres support and see
for yourself if kamailio shows any warnings about missing libs.

Hi Steve,
No, if you're using MySQL, you don't need PostgreSQL libraries... if
you're not using any database, you don't need any database. =)
Some people like MySQL, some like PostgreSQL, some like Redis, some use
Casandra, sqllite, or Oracle.
Different strokes for different folks.
If you look at the install guide on the Kamailio website, it does not
force you to install postgresql libraries and is geared towards MySQL:

Hello,
actually I am not aware of any article that install postgres libraries
when deploying kamailio with mysql backend.
I am maintaining the ones on kamailio.org wiki/docs (link provided also
by Fred: https://www.kamailio.org/wiki/#installation) and all are with
mysql backend and no postgres dependencies.
Can you point to some that you found? If they are in kamailio.org, they
should be fixed.
