Hi,
I saw some chatter a few days ago about openser's presence agent being about to be put on the CVS ... any idea on the ETA? Two students are coming to realize a project for a SIP-based content routing module, and the PA could be a good base. They should be using either ser's pa or openser's pa for processing the sub/not/pub messages, probably extending a bit the functionality ... And if the PA is already available (say ... 2 weeks), i can force it on them to use.
Regards,
Cesc

I've tried it briefly with the Counterpath's eyeBeam 1.5 softphone. The basic PUBLISH, SUBSCRIBE, NOTIFY stuff worked pretty well already.

Its now working here with Gaim (beta 3.1 with SIMPLE). on a Windows XP and Linux Fedora Core 5 system. The only gottcha I see so far, and it probably a Gaim issue, is you can not have more than one SIP domain defined with OpenSER. the clients will register OK, the Gaim client will register OK and SUBSCRIBE but clients PUBLISH doesnt make it to the client ergo your "buddy"s all look "offline". However, even if they are off line you can still chat with them. The bottomline is, as long as there is only One defined domain (aka "OpenSER listen" port) it works just fine. Oh, an this problem may just be a openser.cfg scripting problem...checking it as I speak

the dokuwiki page was updated a bit. As Juha said, the new presence module is on CVS. No need to use tha tarball posted previously in the dokuwiki.
