Hello
I'm getting these errors using Kamailio 1.5.1:

There have been some issues since OpenSer in some presence modules related to DB errors like te above. In OpenSIPS most of them have been fixed (it doesn't occur to me from the last bug fix), but I think these errors still exist in Kamailio.
Go to OpenSIPS bug tracker and search for this error (and other related to presence), you will find good information.
For example, if you are using xcap_client, it has a bug in the DB connection casuing the above problem, try to remove it. Note however that the above bug occured in more cases (also fixed now).

I am running Kamailio presence server in 4 production places and I haven't spotted anyone so far. It might be a particular case, but if something is reported then it will be fixed.
Note that the db api is different in the two projects now and code diverged, so patches from one to the other might not work

Why do you think that? Have you used kamailio and got these ones?

Yes, it could be. However in OpenSIPS there were some bugs related to presence and DB access but these bugs also existed in OpenSer.

I've tryed both. Some time ago I discovered the same DB related bugs in Kamailio and OpenSIPS presence (and family) modules. For a project I used OpenSIPS as presence server so I gave it more testing and reported more bugs.
Of course, I must get some spare time to compile all those bugs and re-check them in kamailio (and report the bug or try to fix). I will do it, hope soon :)

there were lot of fixes in kamailio presence server as well and I understood that there were lot of inconsistent changes in the db api, so it is why things from the other project might not apply at all.

there seems to be a case when the result from db is not freed before making a new query. To sort it out, please apply the patch attached and send me the last two queries you get for the same process - the one that gives the error and the one before.
Thanks, Daniel

Hi
I just applied your patch and I get - with no traffic yet - continusouly this log:
Jun 5 16:07:24 sandbox /usr/sbin/kamailio[14713]: ERROR:db_mysql:db_mysql_submit_query: submit_query(): delete from active_watchers where expires<1244210834 Jun 5 16:07:24 sandbox /usr/sbin/kamailio[14713]: ERROR:db_mysql:db_mysql_submit_query: submit_query(): select id from watchers where inserted_time<1244124444 AND status=2 Jun 5 16:07:24 sandbox /usr/sbin/kamailio[14713]: ERROR:db_mysql:db_mysql_submit_query: submit_query(): select username,domain,etag,event from presentity where expires<1244210844 order by username
and it never stops.
I noticed that this occurs when presence server cleans or updates database. So I change these configuration parameters:
modparam("presence", "db_update_period", 10) modparam("presence", "clean_period", 10)
It changes the frequency of the log but the log always appear periodically (for clean/update actions).
Regards, Pascal

OK good news, with the lastest of 1.5 branch I could not reproduced the bug I reported.
I've sent something like 3x1000 SIP PUBLISH requests and couldn't get the error (with 1.5.1. after 40-50 req, the bug was reproduced easily).
Thanks a lot to both for your help! -pascal

Indeed, yes I have the xcap_client module loaded.
I believe you found the gulty module : as I have another server without the xcap_client loaded and it does not give this db error !
