Regards
First, send the backtrace.
gdb /path/to/kamailio /path/to/corefile
then bt.
Then see if you have any other log messages from pid 19935. The logs before are more important that what is after.
Also, by last version you mean 3.1.0 or the latest GIT version of 3.1. If you use 3.1.0 then there were couple of fixes already, so update to latest git branch. 3.1.1 should be released soon with all these fixes.
Cheers, Daniel

this seems to me like something already fixed after 3.1.0. You haven't said what version are you running, is it git stable branch or tarball?

A number of significant things have been fixed in the git master branch since the 3.1.0 tarball, but all or some of those fixes have also been backported to the 3.1 branch.
I do not know if they have been generated into new Kamailio 3.1.0 tarballs in www.kamailio.org/pub per se, but daily builds from git are available from sip-router.org. For this reason, there is a more or less standing policy not to break the build, especially of maintenance branches. :-)
Looks very likely to be this one fixed by Andrei and cherry-picked by me in 3.1 branch: http://git.sip-router.org/cgi-bin/gitweb.cgi/sip-router/?a=commit;h=292bab78...
Cheers, Daniel

First, send the backtrace.
gdb /path/to/kamailio /path/to/corefile
then bt.
Then see if you have any other log messages from pid 19935. The logs before are more important that what is after.
Also, by last version you mean 3.1.0 or the latest GIT version of 3.1. If you use 3.1.0 then there were couple of fixes already, so update to latest git branch. 3.1.1 should be released soon with all these fixes.

Daniel, one last question...3.1 branch is the git version of 3.1.0 or we have to wait till 3.1.1?
You don't need to wait for a tarball of 3.1.1, to get latest git version of branch 3.1 right now, you can do:
git clone --depth 1 git://git.sip-router.org/sip-router kamailio cd kamailio git checkout -b 3.1 origin/3.1 make FLAVOUR=kamailio ... cfg
Here is a more detailed tutorial about working with git: http://www.kamailio.org/dokuwiki/doku.php/install:kamailio-3.1.x-from-git
Cheers, Daniel
Thanks

You don't need to wait for a tarball of 3.1.1, to get latest git version of branch 3.1 right now, you can do:
git clone --depth 1 git://git.sip-router.org/sip-router kamailio cd kamailio git checkout -b 3.1 origin/3.1 make FLAVOUR=kamailio ... cfg

Hello Sir,
The crash issue has been successfully fixed after using GIT for the version 3.1.0...Now we have another problem..>When the number of registered users exceeded 2500 concurrent registered users, the kamailio stuck and each call will take up to 1 minute to be established
Any comment on that?

First, send the backtrace.

Do you have high debug level? If yes, is your syslog configured asynchronously?
Other than that, you can use benchmark module to spot which of your config actions takes so long to execute. Normally, such cases can happen when you have queries to slow database or dns servers.

This sounds like some sort of host-specific issue. I have run Kamailio across 4 different versions with a whole lot more concurrent registrants than that with no issue.

debug=2 should be that verbose to influence the performances in this way. Anyhow is good to have syslog asynchonous. You can start with log_stderror=yes to see if there is any improvement -- in this way you know whether is an logging speed issue or not.
The solution to identify which piece of config is slow is to use benchmark module.

Daniel,
The crash has been fixed...It was a database issue...Now I have another issue...After some time of run we are getting a message "too many hopes" on dialers like x-Lite while if we use IP address to register to Kamailio, everything works fine
Any tips?

Hi , I am new to this list. I am trying to learn openser. I have installed and configured asterisk and kamailio and now trying to install media proxy on centos 32 bit but I am having hard time finding documentation on media proxy. Any ideas ? or documentation on installation and integration with openser ?
Thank You Amit Nepal

do you need it? If you proxy the calls always through asterisk, than makes no sense to add another media relay in the middle.
If you use asterisk only for some media-related services, I can give a hint with the option of using rtpproxy - that because the default config file is pre-configured with nat traversal via nathelper+rtpproxy -- read the top comments of default kamailio.cfg

good to know. Anything specific you can tell that may help in the future to identify similar cases?

Add:
alias=yoursipdomain
in configuration file. In this way you tell kamailio to consider the sip domain as local domain. At startup, kamailio does reverse dns query to discover hostnames, but it might not be returned, ending up in a loop, resulting in too many hops.

Hello Daniel
Sorry to bother you but I'm getting One Way Audio for some of my customers while when I was using OpenSIPS everything was OK...The issue behind that is the rtp proxy....The rtp proxy is not fully forced for all nat types or for all users...I need you please to have a look to my route defined under kamailio.cfg and let me know if I did something wrong:

good to know. Anything specific you can tell that may help in the future to identify similar cases?
Now I have another issue...After some time of run we are getting a message "too many hopes" on dialers like x-Lite while if we use IP address to register to Kamailio, everything works fine
Any tips?
Add:
alias=yoursipdomain
in configuration file. In this way you tell kamailio to consider the sip domain as local domain. At startup, kamailio does reverse dns query to discover hostnames, but it might not be returned, ending up in a loop, resulting in too many hops.
Cheers, Daniel

Hello Daniel,
We are not facing any database problem even we are not using DNS anywhere in Kamailio config...The only thing is that the debug level is 2 and syslog was not configured asynchronous...Do you think if we configure it as asynchronous, our issue will be solved?
debug=2 should be that verbose to influence the performances in this way. Anyhow is good to have syslog asynchonous. You can start with log_stderror=yes to see if there is any improvement -- in this way you know whether is an logging speed issue or not.
The solution to identify which piece of config is slow is to use benchmark module.

Any comment on that?
Do you have high debug level? If yes, is your syslog configured asynchronously?
Other than that, you can use benchmark module to spot which of your config actions takes so long to execute. Normally, such cases can happen when you have queries to slow database or dns servers.

Hello,
starting with kamailio 3.0, is very easy to spot the logic used for nat traversal.
So look at default config file coming with 3.1, it uses defines to mark the logic required for NAT traversal -- just search for WITH_NAT -- from there should be easy to pull it out, adapt and and plug it in your config.
Cheers, Daniel
