the comment is probably old, however it says that the default build is
without optimizations and with debugging symbols.
But if you build via some packaging system, it can happen that the
debugging sysmbols are stripped and pakaged separately, like
kamailio-dbg-version.deb
Otherwise, try to track the CC flags in the Makefile, those are the
parameters passed to compiler.

I do not understand how properly build Kamailio with disabled
optimization.
Could you let me know how to use "mode=debug"?
