Is there some method to modify the request line, eg. subst/replace ...?
AFAIK the textops functions only work starting with the first header line.

what do you want to change there? Only method and protocol/version cannot be changed, the rest is r-uri?
There is a function to change bit of the first line for replies, but i don't remember one for requests/
