My appologies Greger. didnt see that my recepient was set to you alone, but not the list.
let me say again then
can you somehow highlight this (list search) feature? that would reduce number of users asking same questions again and again, because they might search for their questions first, and then ask the list :)
regards,
andrey.

Hi! You can now search the mailing lists archives directly from iptel.org: http://www.iptel.org/listsearch
Does not give you much beyond not having to type in site:mail.iptel.org on Google, but useful for beginners and as a reminder: search before you ask! g-) _______________________________________________ Serusers mailing list Serusers@lists.iptel.org http://lists.iptel.org/mailman/listinfo/serusers
Thanks, Andrey. There is a link in upper right hand corner and from various locations where it is natural. Do you have any suggestions for how to highlight it better? g-)

Uhm.. Maybe have some kind of "Highlights" / "New" / "Hot!" menu, like the one called "Navigation" with some static or running ads, saying what's new + put some color, which catches the eye.
This list search is actually a great (!!!) idea. I like it very much :) However, many threads in this list address the same issue, but ppl still keep sending same questions again and again. So, that's why they just HAVE TO go to the list search first, and then post a new thread.
Obviously, a very good solution would be to categorize the list. Say, only threads that describe how to setup more than 1 server, or how to deal with NAT, etc. But it's a huge amount of work. I'd feel guilty to ask anyone of the developers to take on this task.
Regards,
Andrey.

Hm, I have bold-faces the info on search here: http://www.iptel.org/ser/using
I'm not sure how most beginners get to serusers, I would assume they go through the above page.
I think the best thing we can do is to create FAQs. You and others who are so kind to help out people can help yourself by adding a FAQ item when a question pops up that has been asked before and then just refer to the FAQ link. Everybody with an iptel.org account can create a FAQ item! g-)

Thanx Greger :). Anyway, let's see if the frequency of repeaded questions will fall or stay the same. I *really hope* this search proves helpful to many.

Andrey.
