According to ur suggestion i edited the openser_mysql script and specify the correct location of the openser_gen_ha1 tool, but this time when i tried to create the table it gave me error
/sbin/openser_mysql.sh create MySql password for root: Domain (realm) for the default user 'admin': admin
creating database openser ... ERROR 2002: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2)
Iam using Linux version 2.6.9-1.667 (Red Hat 3.4.2-6.fc3).

Hi,
please remember that if you use a PREFIX during "make install", you also need to add to PATH the PREFIX/sbin

the openser_mysql script can not find the openser_gen_ha1 tool. This can happen /usr/local/sbin is not included in the PATH.
You can edit the openser_mysql script and specify the correct location of the openser_gen_ha1 tool

Hi all,
I am having problem in creating MySQL database, I followed the given below instruction
create MySQL tables - if you have a previously installed OpenSER on your system, use /usr/sbin/openser_mysql.sh reinstall to convert your OpenSER database into new structures - otherwise, if this is your very first installation, use
/usr/sbin/openser_mysql.sh create to create OpenSER database structures
(you will be prompted for password of MySql "root" user)
but when i tried to create it, this is what happened /sbin/openser_mysql.sh create MySql password for root: Domain (realm) for the default user 'admin': admin
/sbin/openser_mysql.sh: line 201: openser_gen_ha1: command not found HA1 calculation failed
any help regarding this would be favourable
thanks naveen
