The display name shouldn't affect anything, best is just to test it. You can use something like:
xlog("L_ERR", "Contact header: $ct\n"); $var(mycontact) = $ct;
*** Manipulate the content as needed ***
remove_hf("Contact"); append_hf("Contact: <$var(mycontact)>\r\n");
