but won't that add additional delay ?
I mean, connection from Kamailio to python "middleware" script will also
take some additional time to be made (even on localhost) and from
"middleware" to STSH API via HTTP ....

100%, and this is what you should do. Just make sure it's a separate
service and not a script.
