I will open the list again once the storm is over. The reason is that many people subscribed to the list have more than one e-mail address and if they post from address which is not subscribed, I have to confirm it manually.

may i suggest that you just leave it blocked to non-subscribers? This will help keeping spams and worms out of the list.
