Hi Simon,
indeed syn_branch makes sense only if when using tm (to preserve branch number over a restart). and again indeed, it is set default to 1.
can you point me to the doc just to correct it?

And the documentation says the default value of syn_branch is 0 but the code initialize the variable to 1. I have to manually set it to 0.
