Extensive logging can impact performances, the conflict here is more with the child processes ending.

when you said there is a conflict between syslog and sig handling, the script is printing a lot of INFO xlog. Do you think that I should remove all INFO messages? Normally they are suppressed by the OS. They are helpful in investigation but I can remove it if they are hurting stability.

You should try to use KSR.exec.exec_cmd("..."), this has been used in kamailio for many years. Btw, be sure you check the parameters/values you give to the shell commands to avoid troubles, if you simply get them from the untrusted parts of the sip message.
Anyhow, at the end the issue is a conflict because signal handling and syslog(), probably it needs to be reviewed a bit for such cases.

as I could notice the other discussions on this thread: the problem is not related to Kamailio's pkg or shm memory, investigating in that direction has nothing to do with the backtrace and increasing the values via -m and -M does not help. And the debugging symbols for Kamailio are already there, the backtrace provides them for kamailio related frames.
Based on backtrace, the problem seems to be some child process that stops. Is your lua config creating new processes (e.g., with posix.fork()) that end during kamailio runtime? The creation of child process can also be done by some libraries, are you using any external Lua library?
