We have a project sipums to take advantage of the
scripting feature in IVR. It uses Perl to implement a
unified messaging system.
I'm not sure it can't -- the recent python
scripting
feature in IVR
is quite powerful. It is on development branch
though. Stefan knows
the current status best but this feature seems
feasible to me.
