[Serusers] Radius Auth WITHOUT Domain?

Hi, we have a customer whose radius server is not able to auth a <userid>@<realm> scheme required by the auth_radius module. Does anyone know if its possible to do a www and proxy auth via radius without sending the domain/realm part? If i call www_radius_auth with an empy ("") realm the module extracts the domain from the current uri. Is it possible to surpress this? regards, Arnd

Hello list, I am new to SER and trying to understand the ramifications and downsides of SIP Loose Routing versus Strict. I have read RFC3261 and some net documentation, but I'm still having trouble seeing the big picture. In particular, we are testing a SIP route to an ITSP, and they have specified to us "no SIP loose routing". I'm trying to understand, why do providers do this? What is the downside? What are Industry Best Practices? We have some downstream customers that might be connecting Asterisk IAX to us, and then we will be routing these calls via SIP to the ITSP provider. It seems to me that there might be ramifications for loose versus strict routing in how we process these calls. Can anyone with SIP routing experience explain best practices or Advantages/Disadvantages, or point me to a link? I found a document that explains the 'problem' with Strict routing: Strict routing (Route/Record-Route as defined in bis-05 and before) was too strict. Service logic could not affect routing of the initial request. * Strict routing conflates the request target with the next hop destination. * Strict route processing throws away the information in the received Request-URI. * Behavior of UAs with default-outbound-proxies problematic. * Brittle system failure if any element misroutes. i've checked so many examples and read but not yet find any clear one with real examples for routing calls to another sip server. config as follow: UA 1 : NAT : ROUTER A > INTERNET (SIP SER) INTERNET < ROUTER B : NAT : UA 2 (for now i'm testing on LAN but soon i'll place SER on a Public IP) and there's another sipserver at 212.XXX.32.YYY which we use as gateway, it connects all calls to PSTN. Hi, I am running rtpproxy together with ser-0.8.14. I can make a call from one SIP client to another one. I was wondering what would be the correct way to assign multiple aliases to a subscriber in SER. The situation is that I have a domain (eg sip.ser.com) for the SER which I use for the PSTN number aliases to each subscriber. I have a group of users located under the same domain (eg home.ser.com) And now I would like to give each subscriber the opportunity to have 2 extensions for their phone. The first extension is obviously the users login, in this case 4 cyphers, and furthermore I would like to add another 4 cypher extension to that peticular user, and still keeping it inside the same domain (home.ser.com)! Is this possible and does it have something to do with me having to add an 'ALIAS="home.ser.com"' to the ser.cfg? I have it up and running with regular PSTN calls reaching the users, and they to being able to call out to the PSTN. And offcourse the users being able to call each other inside the same domain, without getting accounted. I simply just need to add another secondary alias to the users, and preferrebly keeping it inside the same domain (home.ser.com), and if that's not possible then atleast in a different domain from the one I use for PSTN numbers (sip.ser.com)! All and any help is greatly appreciated. Hello All, My task is to program the ser.cfg in a way that it connects to an external database(any machine in LAN,other than the server on which SER is running) After getting connected to the database I need to query the database and get a result set of IPAddresses based on the destination number that I passed in the query..and further use this set to rewrite the call to the IP Address retrieved. To accomplish this task I need-- 1.how to extract the destinationno from sip_uri 2.how to use the database interface given in SER programmer's guide I went through SER programmer's guide,but if anybody can provide me a simple example of using database interface,it wud be of great help. Hi Jamey, and Kiss, who answered in another message. Thanks for the feedback. I'm not worried about someone on the networks local to the proxy server, so that won't be an issue. As far as getting into a router between the user agent and proxy, I believe it would have to be positioned such that they can redirect packets destined for the "spoofed" IP, and I don't that's too likely....though definitely something to look at. Sending the invite with a spoofed IP would certainly be a potential DOS type of attack, and one I'm concerned about But what I am looking to prevent is someone making 'successful' phone calls that are billed to another customer based on IP address, so I believe both of you have basically confirmed my thinking...that someone can't easily spoof IP's from outside the local network and make successful usable calls. I'll check out the articles Jamey recommended. If anyone else has comments, I'd love to hear them! Thanks again! This seems to be a perennial trouble for people. I see many similar threads. I have 0.9.0 serweb version from when I previously downloaded 08.14 ser is running with mysql, registration and calls running ok etc serweb start up as far as the admin login screen admin/heslo and anything else I throw at it fails to login. It just returns to login screen. After failed login I get a little message : error in sql query line 30 which is the line of the print for error in ….. I have seen many many reports of this but no confirmation from any one that any of the suggested fixes actually did so… Is this a known problem Is it a compatibility issue with 090 Anyone have a solution? But when I use I.E. on other computers, I see the error message: Bad username and password. I have set php.ini register_globals = on already. I have also restarted httpd. What is my problem? Is there a way to simplify the notation of this configuration line? if ( (uri=~"^sip:111.*@.*") | (uri=~"^sip:222.*@.*") | (uri=~"^sip:333.*@.*") | (uri=~"^sip:444.*@.*") | (uri=~"^sip:00.*@.*")){ with something like this maybe? if ( (uri=~"^sip:111 | 222 | 333 | 444 | 00.*@.*")) { Thanks.
