[Serusers] ACC&redirection question

Hi All, I'm presently working on a SER v. 0.8.14 with Postgres db module for accounting purposes. There is one inconvenience we discovered while working with failure_route feature. In case when the call is handled by Cisco_A we have INVITE,ACK,BYE messages stored in db which is good. The problem is when the call is redirected from Cisco_A to Cisco_B we get only BYE. Awcourse following the ngrep it appears that the redirection is created by using INVITE, ...., BYE. The question is why i cannot obtain full information about the call stages in db in case of redirection. Is there anything which has to be added into config file. Regards. Pawel.

Dear ALL: I find a program named "asterisk_b2bua" on http://developer.berlios.de/projects/b2bua/ And I also download them(two components) and try to test it. But I have not enough knowledge about asterisk. It seems a Software PBX. Does asterisk_b2bua work? Does anybody ever try it? I have questions about my scenario. |======================> UA2 (Internet) | UA1 ===> SER ===> Asterisk B2BUA ===> Trunking A (PSTN) | | CDR + Prepaid + Handle Calls(Tear-down when call during limited) | | Authentication ( Radius / DB ) Q1. Will Asterisk's B2BUA pass through the "To" (such as 0939749xxx(a)ser.xxx.net.tw PSTN number) to Trunking A? In another word, is the B2BUA not necessary to rewrite the phone number? Q2. How can B2BUA know when to tear-down this call if the call has some limits. For example, UA1 has only 120 seconds to use this International call. Q3. Is it necessary for Radius Authentication? Is it possible if no radius exists and SER and Asterisk use the same MySQL database. Q4. What do I need to download and setup when I use Asterisk to start this prepaid compoment? The first one shall be asterisk-1.0.5.tar.gz. Maybe some Mysql supported scripts or installaion. And any more?? Best Regard Charles

I have set up the ser to report accounting information. but I only get the INVITE request, no BYE. I have set the log_flag=1, setfalg(1) and record_route() in the ser file. I have no idea what is the problem. Attached is the ser.cfg file

[Serusers] PSTN cause codes

Assuming you were using a SER box to pass calls to a PSTN, is there anyway to create some rules based on the cause codes it sends back? I want to be able to redirect a call if one line says it's full or has an error to a second route or PSTN. Best regards

Hi all! Is there a way to rewrite a SIP packet over several headers? I want put some data from a certain header and put it into antoher header - e.g I want to (don't ask why) put the call-id into the userpart of the Contact: URI Is this possible within the ser.cfg (e.g. using avp)? regards, klaus

Hi there, Does anyone know a code snippet to activate sems in failure_route ? I want to redirect to voicemail in case of busy line or timeout. I can't make a t_newtran() in the failure_route, so if i put the vm("/tmp/am_fifo","voicemail") function in this block, the sems answers with his default message but the ruri (and therefore the mailaddress of the recipient) is unknown and it is not possible to terminate the call with a BYE-request! Are there in addition any side-effects by using the mediaproxy? regards, Philipp

Hi all, I've seen in the debug output that when a UAC setup a call to PSTN Gateway, the reply 100 Trying generated from my GW is handled from my SER with this ERROR code in the debug: ERROR: on_reply processing failed ->>>>>>>>> T_code=100, new_code=100 It's 'normal' ERROR or I've to setup a on_reply block also for this provisional response (100 Trying) or is a my ser.cfg error or, more, is a abnormal behaviour of the tm module?? Hi all! I found a nice monitoring tool today: argus http://argus.tcp4me.com/ It already has built-in checks for SIP and IAX. Compared to nagios - it was really easy to install and to configure. e.g. here is my config for a ser server: Group "sip-testing" { notify: mail:xxx@pernau.at Host "xxx.labs.nic.at" { Service Ping Service UDP/SIP } } The SIP monitoring is done via OPTION requests addressed to the server. Looks like any response code is fine, as long as there is a response to the request. regards, klaus

[Serusers] Manually registering SIP user

Hi all, I'm new to SER and would like to know how to register with SER manually without using a SIP UA. As basically I have a SIP client that does not do registration, but would like SER to do the signaling for me to connect to SIP users on say another domain. I have mysql running, and I can insert subscribers. So is there any specific field in the ser database (other than username, email) I need before I can use my SIP user to call another user? Any help will be greatly appreciated. cheers Chiang

I don't know. Never used it. Wouldn't count on it though. Why don't you go to 0.9.0? Plenty of more good stuff to play with ;-) Go to www.iptel.org and CVS link for info on how to get a cvs version. Hello! I'm implementing some VoIP system with SER+Asterisk. I've already implemented many features, but all of them was tested only in non-NAT environments. Now, at final-alpha stage (before starting massive beta tests) I found big (as for me) problem with NAT... Now I need a working example of ser.cfg (it will be really good) or, simply, to talk with someone, who realized such scheme... My current problem is with ua-to-ua calls between my users... I have a following call routing scheme... UA1->...->SER->Asterisk->SER->...->UA2... Description: UA1 calls to some number, ser routes this call to asterisk, asterisk resolves that number to some account (login name, that being used by users to login to ser) and makes call to sip/ser/user_name... and ser routes this call for user with such login... I have strange problems with natted UAs... Please, send me a working example of similiar schemes (ser+asterisk+nat)... or help me by a word ;-) Great thanks! -- /Scoundrel

[Serusers] End User IP address in Radius packet

Hi All, I am using SER 0.8.14 with Freeradius 1.0.1 with postgresql as database. Till authentication and authorization everything is fine. But my problem is when an end user(calling party) is succefully authenticated I want its IP address to be updated in the database using radius. But SER is not sending the IP Address in the Radius packet. How to configure the SER so that it sends the end user agents IP Address also. Any help in this regard is highly appreciated,. Dear Alexey: Yes, there are almost no document about ser 0.9.0 above. And I am only using the post from Paul's example ser.cfg for 0.9.0 long time ago. I ever study about ser and asterisk at http://www.voip-info.org/wiki-Asterisk+at+large And I also need noanswer and busy forward functions in my scenario. I almost lost hope to do that. Is it necessary to use Radius on ser + asterisk ? I have just a little knowledge about radius, so I am afraid of it.
