Hi iam trying to test trusted IP kind of setup I have openser server connect to my ITSP another Office i have OpenSER, i want to connect to main Server and send the calls out could some one give me examples or docs where i can find similar kind of real world examples Ram

Being very interested in SIP Routers and SIP Softphones is is an obvious step to SIP Servers etc. Having found OpenSER on the Web I have decided that I should at least get a system that I can run locally to use for testing kit and to demonstart to whomever the potential of SIP communication. I realise that I need a "server" and a Linux OS to run on I would be obliged if someone could advise the most reasonable lump of Hardware to use by giving a indication of say type of Processor and Memory requirements. I have to hand a Chassis that has a AMD K6-2 350 Mhz processor and 106 Meg of memory. I do also have a another chassis with a AMD K6-2 550 Mhz Processor and 256 Meg of Memory but that currently runs a test version of XP . I realise that Linus is required can anybody suggest which "version" of Linux has had the best success with OpenSER as I would like to avoid as much as possible the need to interact to much with the OS so I can concentrate on the Application more. All the pre-requisites to build the default OpenSER 1.1.0 under Solaris are available on the Sun Software Companion CD which is supplied with Solaris. These packages are also available for download from Sun's website: http://www.sun.com/software/solaris/freeware/ Off the top of my head, I think I installed these packages from the Solaris 9 Software Companion CD: Application/Editors - GNU sed v3.02 Application/Utilities - GNU text file processing utilities v2.0 Development/Languages - gcc-3.3.2 - GNU bison v1.35 - GNU flex v2.54 Development/Tools - GNU make utility v3.80 Although there may be a few others I've forgotten or already had installed, for use with other software. The only pieces of non-Sun software I had to install were OpenSSL 0.7 and MySQL's libmysqlclient (which requires you to compile MySQL from scratch - as it's not included with the Solaris pkg supplied by MySQL), both of which are optional when it comes to compiling OpenSER. Everything should work OK, if you're using the requirements as specified on the install page though you may also want to look at a trio of bugs I raised in OpenSER's Tracker system regarding some Solaris-compability issues with a couple of OpenSER's shell scripts, in case they haven't been fixed in the release you're using: [1544112] Solaris openser.init script error [1540132] Solaris openserctl.base script error [1540127] Solaris openserctl.fifo script error I believe the last two at least have been fixed in CVS, but they might not have made it into the latest released package yet. [Serusers] forward service with avpops

I am starting to implement the forward capability using avpops module. Before to start I would like to know if it is possible to bill the forwarded call directly to the forwader (the destination of the first call). We account our call using radius, Wiil be possible to see the forwarded call like originated from the forwarder from accounting point of view? If I am wrong what is the good method to bill the forwarded call to the forwarder? Regards Rosario

I have a softphone (eyebeam at 7211) and I try to call a hard phone at 7112. Eyebeam shows after the phone rang: Call failed: Media negotiation failed. I have set-up both for voice: G711u and video: h264. Can you please brief explain me what I see with: ngrep -d any -qt port 5060 (output is below)? I use openser-1.1.0-tls Now, I tried to test it by making a call by using softphone that supported TLS. Based on the suggestion from this forum, for testing it, I can use minisip. [Users] how to change password of user openser in openser1.1.0

Hi Folks, I am need to openser and download the openser1.1.0 to try on. How to change the default password 'openserrw' for user 'openser' when openser 1.10 connected to MySQL 5 plus? /usr/local/sbin/openser_mysql.sh has the default password 'openserrw' however openselctl will give me error "cannot connecte to database server" if I changed the default password. Is it hard coded? Where should I change it after the default installation. Any help will be appreciated. Steve
