Hi,
Here is the setup I have configured.
--Two Kamailio K1, K2 Works as a registrar and call load balancer
-- Three freeswitch works as the media server.
-- They follow common MySQL database.
Regular call flow
User A---> Kamailio (K1)---> Freeswitch (F1)----Kamailio(K1)--->User B.
Everything works fine as long as all users are registered and making call
with single Kamailio. Now the problem starts when we distribute users on
more than one kamailio.
Let us take the case.
UserA -- Registered over TCP with Kamailio (K1)
UserB -- Registered over TCP with Kamailio (K2)
Now User A initiates a call.. It will follow the same path
User A---> Kamailio (K1)---> Freeswitch (F1)----Kamailio(K1)--->User B.
Since User B is registered with K2. K1 being a public server won't be able
to initiate any call to User B because there is no TCP connection
established with it.
Can anybody shade some light on this?
Thanks,
Here is is the relevant section of kamailio.cfg
$var(tempfU) = $fU;
#!ifdef WITH_IPAUTH
if((!is_method("REGISTER")) && allow_source_address() && $au == "")
{
# Loading $fU from database using IP
sql_pvquery("elxpbx", "SELECT name FROM sip WHERE host = '$si'
AND sippasswd IS NULL", "$var(tempfU)");
# source IP allowed
return;
}
The problem is that when host= somefqdn.com the above will fail since
$si will always be an IP address as far as I can tell. More often than
not host= is a fqdn and requiring it to always be an IP address is not
an option. Converting it to IP before storing it in the DB is also not
an option because it needs to be able to work of the IP address changes.
So how can the above be done to accomodate the possibility that host=
somefqdn.com or an IP address. Preferably in such a way that it can
scale to hundreds/thousands of rows in the database without slowing
things down or crashing.

Hello,
can you get the sip traffic from the network (from the first subscribe of this presence dialog)? It will help to see the Route set.
Cheers,
Daniel

Hello,
it doesn't matter if there is a mix of transports. If the UA is mirroring the Record-Route headers in the response to the NOTIFY, it should work fine.

Hello,
you have to do record_route() for all NOTIFY requests -- there are new specs requiring that (RFC 6665) and perhaps asterisk is following them.
If you look in the default kamailio.cfg for v4.2, inside route[WITHINDLG], then you will see how it is done.

I am also not at all an expert in GPL licencing or IP, but would like to
add that any customisation you make specifically for the purpose of
interacting with a billing server or other external application is
likely to take the form of a Kamailio module, rather than modifications
to the existing Kamailio modules, the Kamailio core, or any other part
of the stock code tree.
As far as I know, under the GPL--broadly speaking, for I certainly don't
know or remember the specifics--modules get different treatment than
modifications per se.
As far sa I know, if you can stick your code into [a] completely
self-contained module(s) (and given what you've said about what
specifically you want to accomplish, it seems to me that you absolutely
can) that interact(s) with Kamailio using its module APIs and requires
no modifications to Kamailio itself, it's not subject to the same
licence constraints as modifications per se.
Please do not take my advice as stated, and consult a competent
software/IP attorney.

Hi All,
Im trying to load up module 'mi_xmlrpc.so' into my v4.2.1 Kamailio. It
compiles nicely but when I try to load the module in config and restart
kamailio it gives following error(s)

Now, I've done some searching around and it seems like pre-req library
version mismatch thing..
Do you guys have any solution to this.
My end objective is to be able to send MI commands to my Kamailio server(s)
via web-Interface. Any recommendations, examples are welcome.
Best Regards,
Sammy.
