Hi,
I am using xlog module for my ser.cfg debuging.
I though that it would be very helpful to have a feature which would
prefix each log with a module-parameter defined text.
It is useful for instance when there are more then one instances of ser
on the same host.
Cheers

Hi all,
I've some questions about it.
First of all, when I use a SPA-941 with SER, I can do a three way
conference with two incoming calls. Why I can't if I use an other
product like SPA2100 ?
I can deduce that this service depends on the functionalities of the
product, but I'm not sure.
But if I want nevertheless to use this service independently of the
product used, how can I do ?
Using SEMS ? In this case, can we install it without reinstallating
SER ? Moreover, with SEMS I think I will have to determine a trigger ?
(ie. something like a prefix in the URI ?)
Thank for your answers and your support.
Regards,
Adrien .L
Hello,
I would like to welcome two new members: Jan Ondrej and Peter Nixon. So
far, they did a lot of work to package openser for Fedora and Suse
distributions, becoming now the maintainers of the spec files for those
distributions in OpenSER repository.
Many thanks for the commitment and effort that will lead in installing
and maintaining easier OpenSER in these distributions.
Cheers,
Daniel

Hi,
I've been looking for an ultraportable laptop to run Ubuntu Linux on, as a
more portable alternative to my current Dell that breaks my back each time
I take it with me.
Seeings as I don't need Windows I was hoping to avoid the Microsoft tax by
buying a barebones laptop that doesn't come preloaded with Windows, i
found something good here:
http://www.rkcomputer.net/store/index.php/action/item/id/181/
(System76 have the same one, but they don't ship to Europe)
But by the time I loaded the options I need, and shipped it to Belgium,
paying the VAT and postage it all adds up and takes weeks. It turns out I
can get a Macbook 13" delivered free in 3 days with a US keyboard
(requirement), and it
looks a lot nicer too.
But of course, even though I just want to run Ubuntu on it, it comes
preloaded with OSX.
Has anyone heard of a way of avoiding the Mac tax, like the way people
request a Microsoft rebate by not accepting the Ms License?
I don't want to migrate to OSX because I run all my servers on Linux and
by using it daily I learn a lot about the OS, and I have become addicted
to the Opens source way of helping and getting helped.
I'm not really worried about the financial cost of a bundeled Mac OSX, but
am looking for a way to show Apple that the fact that they bundle OSX on
all their hardware is no better than the way MS get Windows preloaded on
all consumer PCs.
I'll start by sending this question to their customer service and see what
they say...

Hi,
I have to SERs working serialy.
When first one receives INVITE it doesn't generate the 100 Trying response.
First one passed the INVITE message to the second proxy which generates
the 100 response.
How is the 100 Response generation controlled in SER, is it configurable??
Cheers
Thanks in advance
Tomasz
Greetings,
I'm trying to configure authentication for the UA,
I uncommented some sentences in the original ser.cfg
for authentication as the comment in the ser.cfg
guided.
but I found that the following sentence will cause the
ser crash:
modparam("usrloc", "db_mode", 2)
of course I've marked the previous sentence which will
set the parmaeter to 0.
can anyone help me on this problem?
thanks a lot.
Sean

Hi Borislav,
Perhaps the problem can be solved by checking with RADIUS before
allowing the INVITE to complete.
RADIUS can be set up to query a database to check for "simultaneous usage".
Another suggestion would be for you to maintain (and then check) your
own use counters with the avp_db_* functions. If the count is too high,
then the INVITE is not allowed to complete.
I'm not aware of any posted example configurations that perform either
of the above functions. Maybe someone on the list has one they would be
willing to share with the community.
Regards,
Norm
