Hi all!
I have installed openser through CVS from the following link
http://openser.org/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=install_and_maintain_openser_from_c…
till the 8 th step in the link everything went well fine. in the 9 th step,
there is a link to make oepnser.init script work and i did all the steps as
described. I downloaded and installed the monit daemon to start openser thru
it. however, now if i type /etc/init.d/openser start, it says command monit
to start openser and then the command prompt appears back. i dont see the
tcp and udp ports (5060 ) and other information etc when the openser is
started.....and i cant figure out if it is running at all.....if i issue ps
command, i dont see any pid for openser.....if i open the web interface of
the monit daemon, i see that it is trying to start the openser but after
some time it shows failed to start......
please let me know what to do asap.....
Thanks

Hi,
After updating to the latest CVS sources, I am not able to use usrloc with db support.
If I set the usrloc db_mode to something other than 0 , it doesn't work. I get the following error.
This is what causes the error:
modparam("usrloc", "db_mode", 2)
This is the error:
May 25 16:44:57 sesapp /root/ser/sbin/ser[3173]: register_udomain(): Invalid table version (use ser_mysql.sh reinstall)
May 25 16:44:57 sesapp /root/ser/sbin/ser[3173]: register_udomain(): Invalid table version (use ser_mysql.sh reinstall)
Before the update to latest CVS, I was using an older CVS source (maybe for 3 weeks) and I could use db_mode 2 for usrloc.
After this error , I tried to drop all database and create again with Ser's mysql script. But I still get the error.
So, I wonder the required mysql structure and table versions (for new CVS sources).
is there anyone with working usrloc db_mode 2 ?
Thanks,
ilker

Hi,
I am not finding anything in /var/log/messages related to SER or MySql. Really strange! Are there any other log files on SER available to understand what is happening while running it?
Below is the tail output from messges log file.
root@ubuntu:/var/log # tail -f messages
May 29 22:56:58 ubuntu -- MARK --
May 29 23:16:58 ubuntu -- MARK --

May 30 01:16:59 ubuntu -- MARK --

Shown below is the out put which I get while executing 'ser start' command.
root@ubuntu:/usr/local/etc/ser # ser start
Listening on

udp: 10.25.119.97 [10.25.119.97]:5060
tcp: 127.0.0.1 [127.0.0.1]:5060

tcp: localhost.localdomain:5060
udp: ubuntu:5060
udp: localhost:5060

But after this, when I ran netstat, no application listen on port 5060 !
If I comment out all the mysql and authorization related lines from ser.cfg, SER server start working perfectly. So what wrong is happening when I am trying to use MySql ?!
It will be great if some one can throw some light on how to solve this issue.
Thanks,
Benjamin.

I ran the script to create the Ser DB and tables. It went successfully and all the tables got created. After this, I modified the ser.cfg file to configure mysql with SER (.cfg file is attached). After these modifications, ser -c command was executed and I got an error related to libmysqlclient.so.12. Then I created a soft link to libmysqlclient.so.10. After this, ser -c command was through but when I tried to start the server, it is not getting started. I could not understand the real issue why the SER server is not getting started. I have to configure the mysql to continue my experiments with presence server. It will be great if somebody can get me some pointers on configuring mysql with SER. Some links or tutorials are also well being appreciated.

Hello everybody,
I have implemented few features in my openser script. The features are like if a user presses *86 followed by any number, that number will be his forwarded number when someone calls him and he is busy. Similarly the code for forwarding on no-answer is *87 followed by the number to which it should be forwarded.
I've tested these features using Eyebeam softphone and Audiocodoes MP series analog gateways.
But while testing it with a linksys pap2 device, it does'nt work. The problem is that as soon as the user dials *86 the phone gets disconnected and his forwarded number becomes blank in the table where i store these numbers.
I dont understand how does the device recognises the code which is written in my openser script.
Its like if the user dials any feature enabling code, before he enters the number the call is disconnected.
Can anyone please help me in this regard or can anyone please guide me if they worked on this kind of idea before.
the snippet of cfg is as below:
if(uri=~"sip:\*87[0-9]*@") {
if(isflagset(9)) { #--check if the feature is allowed for user--
log(1,"Entered *87 condition");
avp_db_query("select attribute from usr_preferences where username='$fU' and attribute='fwd_noanswer'", "$avp(i:91)");
if(!avp_check("$avp(i:91)", "eq/fwd_noanswer/i")) {
strip(3);
avp_db_query("insert into usr_preferences values('', '$fU', '', 'fwd_noanswer', '', '$ruri', '')");
log(1,"Entered in DB");
sl_send_reply("200", "OK");
exit;
};
strip(3);
avp_db_query("update usr_preferences set value='$ruri' where username='$fU' and attribute='fwd_noanswer'");
sl_send_reply("200", "OK");
exit;
};
sl_send_reply("403", "Forbidden");
exit;
};
Waiting for reply,

Hello,
I am trying to use the uac_auth function against an asterisk box and receive 488 not acceptable here.
It appears that this is not due to a media problem since the client which is routed through openser can issue an authenticated invite without problems when registered directly with the asterisk box - with exactly the the same media settings.
So I supect that this 488 message is due to the fact that openser does not increase the cseq during authentication causing asterisk to issue a 488 after the correct response to the challenge.
What are my workaround options to authenticate openser against asterisk (or any other RFC compliant proxy) ?
ANY practical hints would be highly appreciated.
TIA for your help.

Hello
is there a way to ignore an attribute value when I make an authorization request to MsSQL database? that value is not important I think and it creates an error:
ERROR:

rlm_sql: Failed to create the pair: Unknown value VoIP for attribute Service-Type
rlm_sql (sql): Error getting data from database

MsSQL authorization queries:
authorize_check_query = "VoIP_Radius '%{User-Name}'"
authorize_reply_query = "VoIP_Radius '%{User-Name}','%{Calling-Station-Id}', \

I tried to remove value VoIP from authorization query but the problem doesn't expire.

Thank you
CVS head seems to break in several places serweb:
0. no login possible into user menues. Authentication seems to work but then
serweb log shows problems with apu_aliases and apu_acl application layers.
Admin functions:
1. Accounting details dont show - "caller_deleted" field missing in acc
table
2. user account details cannot be accessed in admin - I suspect problem with
key index since user_preference tables is indexed by uuid whereas in every
other table username is used.
3. Aliases cannot be added - serweb doesnt throw error but hangs
Are these things which should be ammended in openser or rather in serweb ?
I suspect that problems with serweb will increase while openser develops
independently from SER.
Perhaps the openser maintainers might like to consider to fork also a serweb
version and put it on the openser cvs system ?
Thank you for your interest in the matter.
Gerry
