Hello:
I just installed SEMS, sems_2004_01_04, on a new SER 0.8.14 stable
system. I have the same version of SEMS running on my other
system, a 0.8.12 stable system, that is working fine.
On the 0.8.14 system I see the call is sent to the defined failure
route but
no log messages appear from the second instance of SER that is suppose to
interface with SEMS.
Is there someplace where how-to use SEMS with this version of SER is
documented? I don't get any error messages in my logs when starting either
SER or SEMS.
Thanks,Steve

Hi Guys,
I have this problem with a few phones, that they can only use IP number for
proxy adress and domain. So when they register to the proxy, the location
database will have user@ipnumber and not user@domain (use_domain, 0).
The problem is then as follows: that when a caller that registeres with the
domain name are unable to call users that register with the domains IP
number and vice versa. lookup("location") simply replies not found.
Now I know why it happens, but is there a solution for this problem. Like
only look at user and not user@domain or user@ipnumber?
Kind Regards

Hi,
If I have verbose debug turn on, ser takes long time (e.g. 20sec) to start.
It is probably because that ser writes tons of debug of parsing ser.cfg
file.
Is there a way to disable this but still keep verbose logging during normal
call processing? 20 sec is just too long a down time for a production
system.
Thanks,
Richard
I can see an iLBC plugin for SEMs but is the latest release of SER compliant
with iLBC or am I missing the point ?
Thanks
Peter

Hi,
I have just added a new module for SER unstable version. AVPops
(AVP-operations) module implements a set of script functions providing a
very flexible and complete way of accessing and manipulating the user
AVPs (preferences). The module tries to take full advantage of all AVP
features, like using both types of AVPs (ID and name - ID are much
faster, but name easier to handle) or using both Integer and String values.
A wide range of functions are available:
- interfaces to DB resources (loading/storing/removing AVPs based on
different selection criteria and from different tables)
- functions for swapping information between AVPs and SIP messages;
storing SIP msg values into AVPs or pushing AVP values into messages.
- function for testing/checking the value of an AVP against values from
SIP messages or against other AVPs.
The combination of these function offers possibilities like serial
forking, dynamic checking of platform characteristics, per user
preferences/services, etc.
An up-to-date tutorial providing more information (detailed explanations
and commented examples) can be found on Voice Sistem documentation web
page at http://voice-system.ro/docs/avpops.
If there are people interested in testing it, I would be grateful for
any feedback.
Salutari,
Ramona
Hi Guys,
can i use SER in a transparent mode like a squid, with a iproute-redirect?
My user currently using an
asterisk for incoming and outgoint calls, but i need to do an accounting of
every call (call-lenght) on
the firewall, is this possible with SER, including some kind of
"pass-through" authentication/registration
to asterisk? I don't have direct controll over the "backend", so it's not
possible to setup the users on SER...
If someone has already done something like this i would really appreciate a
ser.conf as a template :-)
Regards,
Andreas.
