The routeset is already stored in the dialog, can't you compare that to the routeset in a received request to determine the correct dialog (assuming direction is already known)? Maybe only the position in the routeset is already sufficient.
When we worked on the new dialog design, Iñaki outlined several reasons why relying on the route set for the purpose of dialog matching is tricky. See here
