In the code that I have for cfg_block_t
```
/*! \brief single memoy block that contains all the cfg values */

unsigned char vars[1]; /*!< blob that contains the values */
} cfg_block_t;
```
There's no padding to force the 8 byte alignment.
Could that be the reason for it to fail ?
