I'm not sure if that helps, but Microsoft has a component (IAS) add-on 
to ActiveDirectory that allows RADIUS authentication against AD. You can 
use the RADIUS module in SER to send auth requests to the Microsoft 
RADIUS server.
If you just want to make calls from SER world to LCS world (without 
cross-registration), the link you provided should help you along the 
way. Just take out Asterisk and replace it with SER local user handling 
(registrar, location lookup and routing).
