ok, i'll set enable_sphere_check, but do you think this will fix also
the publish crash?  when i have gotten the "commands out of sync" error,
i don't remember that openser would have crashed.

to me it is a mystery, why the db query that i have described in the
previous messages, does not return what it has been asked for, but does
returns two columns (status, reason), which were not asked for.
