If DTMF mode is set to RFC2833 or RTP, Kamailio have nothing to do with it.

It's not a matter of Kamailio, it's a matter of SIP config on the UA side, you 
must set DTMF mode to SIP-INFO if you want that it travels throught Kamailio 
as SIP traffic.
