yes, it is not simple, but should be done anyway.  

what does proxy currently do, when it receives a malformed reply that
fails parsing and cannot be forward to uac?  

i consider incorrect r-r header to be the same case.  if the proxy is
able to handle the former, it should be able to handle the latter.
